Free employee cost calculator

Estimate the loaded cost of an employee.

Estimate annual, monthly, hourly, and daily employee cost from salary, employer taxes, benefits, and overhead.

How the calculation works

Use consistent inputs and keep the result in context.

What the load includes

The loaded cost adds employer-side payroll charges, benefits, and allocated overhead to gross salary. Overhead may include equipment, workspace, software, insurance, recruiting, and administration.

Paid hour is not productive hour

The hourly result divides cost by paid hours. Holidays, leave, training, meetings, and downtime mean productive capacity is normally lower. Use a separate utilization assumption for client pricing.

Country rules differ

Employer taxes, mandatory benefits, severance, pension, insurance, and paid leave vary by location and contract. Replace the example percentage with a locally verified estimate.

Continue planning

Connect the number to the operating decision.

Use the result as a starting estimate, document the assumptions, and replace them with actual records as the business operates.
